I absolutely agree. Days of burning fossil fuels must come to pass. We have the sustainable resources and access to technologies to convert solar and wind energies to electricity. As citizens it is our moral obligation to converse our country for future generations. South Africa’s resources and nature belong to its citizens and not its government.
Our Irish Government has just issued 2 licences for gas exploration using this fracking system in our beautiful area in north west. We are all so distraught here to even think of the eventualities that this will bring if allowed to carry on.
As Bridget said we are facing the threat of fracking here in Ireland and it is only just becoming an issue so I guess we have a lot of work ahead of us. I wish you the best of luck with your struggle too.
